During an interview with the Russian news agency RT, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported that the country has succeeded in dismantling more than 90% of the criminal groups that operated in urban and rural areas. He pointed out that among the neutralized groups is the so-called Aragua Train.
President Maduro indicated that this organization has been used as a symbol to justify external pressure from the United States.
“They turned the Aragua Train into a figure to support political, economic actions and now military threats from the United States,” he said, while stressing that they are trying to build a narrative that links revolutionary movements with illegal activities.
He emphasized that the Venezuelan population remains faithful to historical values and will not give in to provocations: “If the time comes to confront, it will be done with calm, determination and conviction,” he said.
The Head of State also recalled that the legal system provides for sanctions against those who promote foreign intervention: “Encouraging attacks and violations of sovereignty constitutes a serious offence against the nation,” he said, referring to sectors of the extreme right that act as operators of imperial interests.
He called for defending and disseminating the truth in order to “prepare for the permanent struggle”, since the peoples of the world are faced with a government “with extremist ideas that does not recognize anything” not their internal legality and much less their citizenship.
