The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro,
highlighted the country's glorious history on Monday, in the face of threats from the
United States (USA) and imperial lies to justify
military intervention in the Latin American nation.
“There are people who believe in their
supremacy, that the truth is what they say and it's the truth, only the
truth and nothing but the truth. But the truth is something else. Truth is a
set of things, of events, of facts, of events, of processes, of
events. And you have to be the media to make a
great ethical effort to show the truth,” said the head of state at a press conference
with national and international media.
In this regard, he stressed the
importance of telling the truth about Venezuela, “which is a country that has a glorious
history (...) No one can take from us what we have
in our blood. We are the liberators and liberators of this continent, and we say this with humility, but we say
it with spiritual complacency.
We don't cultivate pride or ego, but rather spiritual complacency,” he remarked.
He added that Venezuela is a country
that is peaceful, pacifist, in essence, that with a great effort it has succeeded
, because no one has given us what we have, neither yesterday nor today.
Nobody gave us independence, identity, the republic, whatever
we conquered it.”
