The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, asked the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to advance plans to review all the communication and cyber equipment that the military institution has, in order to prevent them from being used to attack the country.

During his participation in the events on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), the President clarified that this decision was taken after, in recent days, Israeli Zionism used communication equipment such as cell phones or pagers to carry out terrorist attacks in Lebanon.

“Review all the equipment that has been purchased, all that is in stock. Maximum comprehensive cybersecurity”, requested the Head of State.

He also emphasized that Venezuela is making progress in unmanned aircraft (drone) capabilities and defense against them to ensure the country's defense.

“You have to have anti-drone defense in all vital objectives, airports, ports, etc. It's very important,” he said.

In the same way, he drew attention to the importance of readjusting the country's intelligence and counterintelligence services to, in this way, “be two and three steps ahead” for the country's defense.
