During an interview for the program Conversando con Correa, conducted by former Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa on the news agency Russia Today (RT), the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, assured that the United States (USA) is playing a very dangerous card with threats and harassment.

“The empire is playing a dangerous card for our region, but dangerous for them too,” said President Maduro.

The president stated that the United States “seeks, through military intimidation, to show its face, because internally we have defeated them on all levels, extremist groups have disappeared and in Venezuela there is a climate of coexistence, tolerance and participation.”

He added that over the past year all the authorities have been renewed by popular vote and the economy has recovered with its own efforts, so a military aggression against the Bolivarian nation “would be crazy.”

Regarding the international situation, the Venezuelan Head of State noted that “we are in a state of war, Pope Francis said it more than two years ago, the Third World War has already started; the empire has a plan to try to force its hegemony in the world”.
