President Maduro: The US wants to seize Venezuela's oil to touch the world's arm

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Monday that the United States government is promoting a geopolitical strategy to seize Venezuelan oil reserves, with the objective of imposing regime change and controlling the global energy market.

“Seizing oil from Venezuela and twisting the arm of the entire world, twisting the arm of all the OPEC plus countries, all the producers in the world and controlling in the short, medium and long term the largest oil reserve on planet Earth that is in Venezuela,” he emphasized.

Maduro emphasized that Venezuela has the largest oil reserve in the world, a resource that, in his words, “belongs to Venezuelans and will never belong to anyone else.” Venezuela will never again be an oil colony of any empire.

The president also referred to the statements of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, whom he called a “caudillo”, and warned that Washington's actions are part of a military operation aimed at intimidating, destabilizing and fragmenting Venezuela.

“This has not happened and will not happen. In the name of God the Father Almighty, I decree perpetual peace and sovereignty for Venezuela,” he concluded.
