The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, leads the inauguration ceremony of a monument commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the victory of the Anti-Fascist World War.

This official event, held in the northern part of Caracas, underlines the strategic alliance between the two nations and the shared vision of a multipolar world.

The event, which celebrates the end of the Civil Offensive and the birth of the People's Republic of China, is attended by Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez; Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez; General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López, Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Minister of People's Power for Defense; His Excellency Mr. Lan Hu, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Venezuela; and the General in Chief Domingo Antonio Hernández Lárez, Strategic Operational Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.

The event emphasizes the importance of the union between free peoples in building a future of peace and prosperity, away from hegemonic logic.

The monument, located at the end of Baralt Avenue and Boyacá, pays homage to the history and future of China and is divided into two main parts:

—The story: A wall with high reliefs that narrate the Chinese people's War of Resistance. At the top, it has a flag that symbolizes the nation's revolutionary achievements. On the reverse, the Great Wall of China stands as a symbol of the people's strength and resilience. Around the base, 34 emblems are displayed representing the provinces that participated in the victory.

—The present and future: A sculptural group that shows a family moving forward together, with figures that symbolize education, science, sports and work. It also has a female figure in the rear who holds a torch and who is representative of China's victory and its role as guardian of the nation.

The work includes a plaque with a dedication by the Venezuelan people to the millions of men and women of the People's Republic of China who defeated the invading forces 80 years ago.

The ceremony also includes a wreath, the raising of the Chinese flag, a cultural performance of Romer Botini and Frank Frontado's ballet, and the firing of 14 artillery salvos that symbolize 14 years of Chinese resistance to the Japanese invasion, from 1931 to 1945.
