President Maduro: Venezuelan military and police forces have great capacity for reaction and control

President Nicolás Maduro affirmed that Venezuela's military and police forces have great capacity to react, control and establish constitutional order to guarantee peace.

During an event on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), Maduro recalled that the violence generated by fascist groups in Venezuela after the elections was pacified within 48 hours.

“The plan to generate pockets of violence to provoke a civil war was thoroughly prepared by the Venezuelan bourgeoisie, imperialism and international fascism,” said Maduro.

The Head of State emphasized that the revolutionaries dedicated themselves to carrying out an electoral campaign of joy, of dancing, with proposals, debates, listening to ideas, to the People. “While the extreme right used the electoral campaign to create their violent plans,” he said.

“On Friday, July 26, we captured individuals commanded by paramilitaries from Norte de Santander, in Colombia, who intended to fly and exploit the Ureña Substation of the Los Andes Electric System with the objective of leaving half of the country without electricity,” he added.

In that sense, he argued that in Venezuela the extreme right prepared, it was for war, to accumulate, organize new forces and prepare for an attack against the rule of law and against peace.”
