This Monday, May 20, the President of the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, assured that “we are working so that, after the victory of July 28, Venezuela will enter the BRICS through the big door as a direct partner member.”

This was stated in his Con Maduro+ program when consulted by guest journalist Mario Silva, where he added that “Venezuela is on the path of entry and organic articulation with the new powers of the world.

“We have outlined it very clearly, already at the South African Summit last year, we were incorporated as permanent guests, to the BRICS,” he said.

In that vein, he added that he was sure that “we are going to see CELAC moving into the future and becoming a Confederation of Republics, Countries and States of Latin America and the Caribbean.”

“We are going to make it pass from community to confederation and on that path we already have the documents, drafted at the last summit we attended where the path was approved to create a permanent forum between CELAC and BRICS so that Latin America can be articulated towards the future,” he said.

He stressed that “the BRICS are the new world without hegemonism. These are the new power blocs that Commander Chávez dreamed of and that Liberator Simón Bolívar envisioned two hundred years ago, when he left the geopolitical concept of building a balance in the universe.”
