President Maduro: We dedicate this great victory of the people to the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, celebrated the results of the electoral contest this Sunday, July 27, as a triumph of Hugo Chávez's Bolivarian Revolution, on the 71st anniversary of his birth.

“On this date, July 28, 2025, we dedicate this great victory of the people of Venezuela to the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Frías,” said President Maduro, who added that these elections constituted the 33rd election of the 26 years of the Bolivarian Revolution .

He also stressed that this day was characterized by its peaceful development and by no incidents, an aspect that reflects the will of the Venezuelan people to choose the nation's destinies.

He argued that it is a sign of the desire for peace of all those who went to the polls in the 335 municipalities of the country to elect their mayors, councilors and, for the first time in history, to participate in a combined election in which community projects promoted by youth were also submitted to popular will, through the National Consultation.

Birth of Commander Chávez

Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías was the most influential and iconic leader in the history of the Venezuelan Bolivarian Revolution. Born on July 28, 1954, in Sabaneta, Barinas state, he dedicated his life to fighting for social justice and equality for Venezuelans.

Today marks the 71st anniversary of his birth. An emblematic figure who has left a legacy that endures in the memory of the people and in the policies he left, a sign of his commitment to social justice and his love for Venezuela, becoming a legend.

Venezuela celebrated the presidential elections as a holiday to honor not only Commander Hugo Chávez, but also a Venezuelan people who, with their courage, conscience and hope, have forged the possibility of being able to decide in peace and to recognize themselves as a free, independent and sovereign nation.
