After exercising his right to vote in the municipal elections, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced a series of cultural activities to commemorate the first anniversary of the victory of July 28, 2024, a date that he described as “heroic and decisive for peace”.
The Head of State invited all Venezuelans to participate in the events, which will take place for ten days starting Monday, July 28.
“We are going to celebrate in the streets with music, joy and popular mobilization. It is the anniversary of the great victory against fascism, and we are going to commemorate it as the Venezuelan people deserve,” he said.
The president also recalled that July 28 marks the birthday of Commander Hugo Chávez.
“Our Commander was born in the midst of a downpour, and today we feel more alive than ever in the strength of the Bolivarian Revolution. This celebration is also for him, for his legacy and for the country he refounded,” he said.
Maduro reiterated his call for peace and civic participation, stressing that the electoral process had been carried out without incident thanks to the dedication of the security forces and the democratic spirit of the population.
