President Nicolás Maduro, from the Miraflores Palace in Caracas, today celebrated Journalism Day, a date he described as a tribute to “freedom and truth”.
“We have demonstrated that it is possible to win the battle for truth, ideas and forge a new narrative that affirms the best of our country,” said the Head of State on his Instagram account.
The president said that journalism, by its essence, is rooted in the relentless struggle for dignity and truth.
This tribute is made in honor of those who, through their talent as a writer and thinker, exercise the profession of journalists fighting the battle of ideas from all platforms and social networks.
WINNERS:
The judging jury for the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award 2025 published this Wednesday the verdict of the winners, after the evaluation of 377 applications, highlighting the creativity and commitment of young communicators who have been able to adapt to new technologies, using them as tools for the defense of timely and truthful information.
The Simon Bolivar Single Journalism Award is awarded to journalist Helena Salcedo for her life dedicated to social communication, her tireless work in defense of truth and freedom of expression.
The jury for the National Journalism Award 2025 awards a special prize to journalists Sahar Emami, Nima Rajabpour and the administrator Masoumeh Azim, victims of a bombing carried out by the Israeli Air Force against the Iranian Radio and Television Organization (IRIB) in Tehran, which caused irreparable human losses.
The National Journalism Award, in its Printed award, recognizes journalist Randolph Borges for his commitment to the truth, his critical approach and his contribution to the reporting of injustices for his investigative report. Cultural Journalism, recognizes the Resolana Magazine, a publication of the Juan Calzadilla national poetry school, for its valuable work in the promotion and dissemination of Venezuelan poetry.
