This Saturday, December 14, the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) today is the standard of the world's free peoples and therefore the commitment to the struggles for respect for the sovereignty and rights of each one.
“The ALBA-TCP is more than a political project, it is a symbol of living resistance to injustices and domination (...) it is the standard of free peoples who defend the principles of solidarity, complementarity and justice (...) It's not just an alliance, it's a promise for the future, a living resistance, an instrument for the most dispossessed and a reminder that together as peoples we are invincible,” he said during the XXIV ALBA-TCP Summit in Caracas.
He reaffirmed that these values are what Bolivia is committed to, “the fight for a multipolar world where the rights and dignity of our peoples are respected without conditioning or threats.”
In this regard, he expressed his rejection of the siege and attacks that Bolivia has had to face because of external and internal threats in his country; and he also condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. “They represent not only a violation of international law, but a direct attack on the sovereignty and well-being of our peoples,” he said.
He also reaffirmed that the ALBA-TCP raises its voice without hesitation in the face of the genocide of the State of Israel against the Palestinian people. “Palestine is not a distant whisper, but an urgent cry demanding justice,” he said.
“Our Alliance cries out for respect for democracy, which cannot flourish under the boots of imposition or the dictates of hegemonic interests, we strongly demand non-interference in the internal affairs of our nations, because each people has the sovereign right to build their own destiny, without external pressures or imposed agendas,” he emphasized.
He emphasized the importance of the union of Peoples, “in the face of global injustices, it is the promise that we will continue to fight from our mountains and our plains for a future where freedom, sovereignty and peace are a reality for all the peoples of our America and the world, we cannot allow the world to continue to tolerate blockades that suffocate entire nations, sanctions that punish the most vulnerable,” he added, celebrating that today a new world is rising with BRICS.
“Bolivia, with its indigenous roots and its integrative vocation, is committed to continuing to build bridges, we will continue to encourage the participatory nature of the alliance with projects that involve and benefit our native Afro-descendant peasant peoples, we will promote all necessary actions to eliminate hunger and poverty that hurts the soul of our peoples,” he stressed.
He also took the opportunity to extend the invitation to Heads of State to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Plurinational State of Bolivia on August 6.
