This Wednesday, in the city of Bogotá, Colombia, the 7th Ministerial Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) 2025 takes place. The meeting brings together high-level representatives from 33 countries, who discuss the common energy challenges faced by the region.
The pro tempore president of CELAC, Gustavo Petro, during his participation, stated that energy and public policy must be coordinated to protect life on the planet, avoiding generation from fossil sources.
“A national policy of reindustrialization has been promoted. We are determined to transform an extractive economy into one based on knowledge. From the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, we are actively and decisively promoting the decarbonization of inputs and processes; and the development of sustainable goods and services,” said the Colombian president.
He also raised his voice in defense of the People of Gaza, victims of the Zionist State of Israel, when he questioned: “What do we have in Gaza? A genocide. Latin America, for the most part, with the exception of two or three countries, is going to vote against genocide at the United Nations and I have wanted to lead this since the Presidency of Colombia.”
