From the social network X, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, denounced that his country's National Electoral Council (CNE) intends to stage a coup d'etat by stripping him of the integral constitutional jurisdiction that protects him.
“I do not accept that, through a document from a consultation room of the Council of State that has no binding force, the Electoral Council has stripped me of the integral constitutional jurisdiction that protects me,” wrote the Head of State.
In that regard, the Colombian Head of State rejected that the electoral body that represents purely an administrative and political body, as established by the constitution, seeks to suspend him from office.
Namely, the CNE has the objective of removing Gustavo Petro from presidential office while he is being investigated for alleged irregularities in the funding of his electoral campaign.
