The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, arrived this Sunday in St. Petersburg as part of his official visit to Russia for the commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union over fascism and the 65th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Diaz-Canel arrived at Pulkovo Airport where he was greeted by the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.
“Cuba will be in Red Square this May 9th. It's an honor,” said the president through his social networks, quoted by the RT agency.
During his stay in Russia, Díaz-Canel will develop an agenda focused on economic cooperation, biotechnology, energy and artificial intelligence. Later, he will travel to Moscow, the Russian capital, to participate in the Victory Day parade, along with other world leaders.
