Presidential Commission inspected piles in the port of La Guaira

The Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Habitability reported on the technical inspection carried out on the piles of the port of La Guaira, with the purpose of determining the stability of the facilities and verifying the condition of their supports located in the sea.
In this regard, civil engineer Jesús Vielma explained that, after this initial review, the team will make recommendations on the in-depth studies that should be carried out on site.
He also pointed out the importance of carrying out such studies, since they will help establish the level of structural vulnerability of the piles and buildings of the port area.
Piles are deep structural columns that sink into the seabed to support the weight of springs, oil platforms, bridges and other infrastructure.
