The first presidential round in Brazil is celebrated this Sunday, September 04, with millions of citizens called to renew the presidency, vice-presidencies, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, on a historic day for the political and sovereign future of Latin America.
The foreign census reached a record high, with more than 918,000 voters eligible to vote outside Brazil. From the early hours, the venues of Lisbon, Porto, Madrid and Barcelona registered massive crowds.
According to Telesur, two paths were outlined during the campaign. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva heads the social and integrative project, while Senator Flávio Bolsonaro represents the extreme right.
The working diaspora mobilized in defense of the deepening of a social state with rights, in the face of the return of the neoliberal and repressive model.
Portugal leads the census of Brazilians in Europe with 134,797 registered, an increase of more than 66% compared to 2022. The University City of Lisbon was overwhelmed by the influx of the public, while in Spain, nearly 40,000 citizens come to authorized centers in Madrid and Barcelona to support the continuity of the social justice project.
The brand is historic. The census grew 66.63% compared to the 2022 elections and left the Iberian country as the second largest electoral roll in Brazil abroad, behind only the United States.
The polls anticipate a close dispute. Datafilha studies released the day before place Lula da Silva in the lead with 45% of valid votes, against 40% for Flávio Bolsonaro.
In terms of programming, the two blocs propose opposing paths. Lula da Silva's candidacy promotes regional integration, the fight against poverty, the defense of the Amazon and self-determination in a multipolar world.
