The speech of the Vice President of the United States (USA) and candidate for elections, Kamala Harris, to close the Democratic convention in Chicago, generated disappointment among pro-Palestinian activists, who criticized her lack of rupture with the status quo regarding the genocide of Israel against in Gaza.

Amid pressure to address the issue of U.S. support for Israel's aggression in the Palestinian enclave, Harris merely reiterated his position on the Zionist country's right to defend itself and the Palestinian right to self-determination, in addition to advocating a ceasefire and an agreement on hostages.

Pro-Palestinians expressed frustration at the exclusion of a Palestinian speaker from the convention, especially in a key state like Michigan.
