The head of state of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Monday the appointment of Professor Omar Hurtado Rayugsen as the new president of the National Center for History (CNH), replacing Alexis Corridor Pérez, who had been in charge of the institution since September 5, 2023.

“We will continue to bring to the present the victorious struggles of our Liberators and Liberators, the heroic story that we are made of as a people and of which we are proud. Our Homeland is blessed in history!” , said the Venezuelan Dignitary through his account on the social network X.

Hurtado Rayugsen is a renowned professor and historian who has left his mark on important institutions such as the Simon Bolivar Study Center, the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas, and the CNH, where he has made great contributions to national memory.

The Venezuelan historian received the National History Award in 2017, and is a faithful defender of Venezuelan territory and of the ideology of Maestro Simón Rodríguez.

In February 2023, he was appointed by the Libertador Municipal Council as the new Chronicler of Caracas, a responsibility he assumed with a rescue approach to those who manipulated history, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Communication and Information.
