Public Ministry launched criminal investigation against five PNB officials

In a statement, the Public Ministry announced the beginning of a criminal investigation against five officials of the Bolivarian National Police Force.
In this regard, it became known that for this purpose the Office of the Prosecutor 21 of the State of Lara was commissioned, together with the National Prosecutor's Office 98, with competence in the field of protection of human rights and gender diversity.

The Public Ministry reports the beginning of a criminal investigation in connection with the alleged search and execution of acts contrary to public ethics, in a private establishment intended for entertainment, located in the city of Barquisimeto, Lara state, on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
To this end, Attorney General's Office 21 of the state of Lara was commissioned, together with the 98 National Prosecutor's Office with competence in the protection of human rights and gender diversity.
In the present case, the Bolivarian National Police Force (PNB) promptly activated its internal control mechanisms and placed five officers of that police force at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, who will be brought before a supervisory court in the next few hours, for the alleged commission of crimes enshrined in the Criminal Code and the Anti-Corruption Act.
The Public Prosecutor's Office confirms that, within the framework of its constitutional and legal powers, it will continue to ensure respect for the human rights of all people, without any discrimination.
