The general secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP), Rander Peña, said that “all that information about the migrants he paid for a 'dream', to the coyotes, who were behind Guaidó and his henchmen, all that information was with them, and now it's used to sell it to ICE (United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service).”
In this way, he affirmed that this body carries out “the raids that Venezuelans are experiencing today, that is, it is the Venezuelan right that surrenders to the Venezuelan people.”
In an interview with La Iguana TV, he argued that the pseudo ambassadors that Juan Guaidó appointed in each of the countries, “were not to represent the population, they were to represent the interests of this man and the group of coyotes, who together shaped the destiny of the United States and that is how they sold the false illusion that they were going to protect the interests of Venezuelans and the false illusion of the American dream”.
In that regard, he stressed that “the plan to criminalize Venezuelan migration was always the plan of the right wing, they tried it in 2012, 2013, then in 2015 when they tried to associate it with political issues, but it was unconcealable that the real reason for the migration was economic, due to sanctions and these were going to countries like Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and we saw how xenophobia and racism campaigns were created against Venezuela”.
Peña pointed out that seeing all this, in 2018, the Government of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, created the Plan Back to the Homeland, “because we were suffering from anxiety with Venezuelans abroad, who were trying to send remittances to their families in the country, because of the economic issue, after the strong sanctions that we are still experiencing.”
He also specified that by 2019, the right wing said that Venezuela, “was becoming empty, so they came up with absurd numbers of more than seven million Venezuelans who migrated. For the right and the empire, migrants are a business, that's why we see that they expel parents and keep children, kidnap them and place them in foster homes, this is institutionalized trafficking and today our people must understand it.”
“I am convinced that sooner rather than later, Venezuela will see the more than 252 Venezuelans kidnapped in El Salvador and the 31 children that the United States Government has kidnapped,” he said.
