Reception of works for the Elsa Morales National Art Salon kicks off this Friday

The Ministry of Popular Power for Culture reported that the call for all plastic artists in the country to celebrate the Elsa Morales 2025 National Art Salon starts from this Friday, 1st to Sunday, August 31, 2025.

He also indicated that the reception of the works will take place in the different museums and centers designated by the National Museum Foundation and regional institutions.

He specified that plastic artists from the following disciplines can participate in this call: Drawing, Painting, Photography, Graphic Arts, Sculpture, Assembly, Textile Art, Fire Arts, Video Art, Sound Art, Body Arts and Installations.

“The call for the 2025 art salon has a woman's name, Elsa Morales, but it's not just any woman; Elsa wasn't just any artist,” said the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas Poljak.

The National Art Salon 2025 will highlight the life and work of Elsa Morales, who was a plastic artist worthy of being recognized as a bulwark of national artistic endeavor, not only in plastic art, but also in poetry and letters. It will also pay tribute to other great women artists such as: Luisa “La Nena” Palacios, Mérida Ochoa, Fina Gómez Revenga and Felicinda Salazar.

The show will be held in the month of November 2025 in the city of Caracas in the different museums that make up the National Museums Foundation: Alejandro Otero-MAO Museum, Carlos Cruz-Diez-Medi Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Fine Artes-MACCAR, Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas, and National Art GAN-Gallery.
