The highway of Local 008, which connects Mérida with the city of El Vigía, was recovered by 80%, as reported by the governor of the entity, Jehyson Guzmán.
In the accounts of the social network Instagram, the Government of Mérida, explained that in less than three months, the passage that was affected by the intense rains that occurred in the state was enabled and asphalting and maintenance work has been carried out in the Caña Brava, Santa Teresa and La Trujillana tunnels.
He says that in the radio station Calor 93.5, in the Open Microphone program, he specified that the tunnels have total signage and lighting, because they were completely neglected.
To make progress in terms of tolls and roads, Guzmán also noted that road safety improved with the addition of patrols and ambulances, as well as the adaptation and automation of tolls, to speed up traffic. In addition, toll revenues have been used to finance improvements in surrounding municipalities.
He argued that a multiple effort has included the recovery of historically abandoned communities, to ensure accessibility and dignity for their inhabitants.
Regarding the Pan-American zone, he indicated that this process has not only benefited communication between Mérida and Táchira, reducing travel time to three and a half hours (previously six hours were required), but it has also revitalized economic relations between both regions.
He pointed out that a comprehensive rehabilitation of roads, not only asphalt but also sidewalks and sidewalks, is being carried out in communities such as Esperanza Bolivariana and El Samán, in conjunction with organized popular power.
