Regional authorities reopen the La Vega bridge between Píritu and Turén in Portuguesa

This Wednesday, September 3rd, the passage over the La Vega bridge, on the Píritu-Turén national road, in the Portuguesa area, was rehabilitated.

Traffic on this road, at the border between the municipalities of Esteller and Turén, had been restricted for a month due to severe damage to the bridge due to heavy rains between June and July.

Governor Primitivo Cedeño explained that the structure was repaired “in record time, as a result of the joint work carried out by the national and regional governments to recover the road infrastructure in Portuguesa, heavily affected by rainfall.”

The repair of the bridge, located over the El Guamal pipe, included the correction of an edge fault and the construction of a hydraulic protection wall in the right access to the structure, to reinforce and preserve the piles and guarantee their stability, regional press reported.
