Regional Government forms Coordination for Research against Animal Abuse in Miranda

The Bolivarian Government, through the authorities of the Guaicaipura municipality in Miranda state, reported the creation of the Coordination for Research against Animal Abuse in that jurisdiction.

This unit was created in order to guarantee animal welfare and ensure that crimes against them do not go unpunished, according to a press release from the agency.

It also focuses on the prevention of abuse, through awareness-raising campaigns, the investigation and sanction of complaints, inter-institutional collaboration and education and awareness-raising through workshops and talks in schools and communities.

It will have agents trained in animal welfare and rights, and alliances will be established with animal defense organizations to strengthen coordination.
