Rescue and security forces carry out emergency drill at Lara airport

As part of the international certification before the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), an emergency drill was carried out at the facilities of Jacinto Lara International Airport (AIJL).

The simulation was attended by 90 people and allowed us to observe the measures to be taken in the face of incidents, in which the actors who assumed the roles of passengers and cabin crew were assisted by rescue and safety professionals, in addition to the medical staff present to classify the severity and provide appropriate care according to the injuries of each user.

The Secretary of Security of the State Lara, Martín Maldonado, pointed out that the action lasted approximately 34 minutes and indicated that the exercise “highlights the operational readiness and speed of security protocols, which involves all existing personnel at the airport; with this, we envision how to secure public facilities and guarantee the lives of passengers and crew members,” he said, quoted by the entity's press.

The president of the airport described the simulated eventuality as positive, assuring that the main objective is to provide an immediate response to any event, “the device was carried out in a synchronized manner acting in a fast and organized manner”.
