The Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoigu, held a telephone conversation on Monday with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, to address current issues of bilateral military and technical-military cooperation, in addition to exchanging views on regional security issues.
In a statement, Shoigu said that “Moscow and Tehran are constantly intensifying their joint efforts to build a truly egalitarian multipolar world.”
Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to the fundamental principles of Russian-Iranian relations, including unconditional respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the other party, which will be confirmed in the next Great Interstate Treaty between Russia and Iran, the ministry said.
