This Monday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, at a press conference as part of his visit to Saudi Arabia, assured that Volodimir Zelensky's speech is trite.
“Zelensky's initiative has been known for a long time, it's already trite. It's an ultimatum pure and simple,” Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Minister's statements come after the ministerial Dialogue meeting between the Kremlin and the Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Persian Gulf.
Likewise, the foreign minister pointed out that “the fact that the West clings to this ultimatum means only one thing: the West does not want to negotiate fairly”.
“He wants to continue doing everything possible so that Russia, as they expect, approaches a situation in which they can declare us a strategic defeat on the battlefield,” he stressed.
Lavrov described the initiative of the leader of China, Xi Jinping, on global security as “very positive”. “Any conflict must begin to analyze it with the causes that originated it,” he said.
