The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported this Thursday, April 16, a series of attacks carried out by Ukrainian forces against civilian targets, including an oil tanker flying the international flag and residential areas in the south of the country.

According to the official report, the attacks have left two people dead, including a minor, and several injured of varying seriousness.

The agency's spokeswoman, Svetlana Petrenko, reported that an oil tanker sailing under the Liberian flag was hit by drones while it was in Russian territorial waters.

The attack caused serious injuries to the captain of the vessel, a Turkish national, who was evacuated as an emergency and is currently under hospital care. Petrenque described the incident as part of a coordinated strategy of harassment against civil and commercial navigation.

Simultaneously, authorities confirmed an air raid with drones during the early morning of Thursday in the Krasnodar region. In the city of Tuapsé, the impact of projectiles on inhabited areas caused the death of two people.

The Committee especially gravely emphasized the death of a minor at the site, while emergency teams continue to assist other civilians who were injured during the detonations.

The Investigative Committee has initiated appropriate steps to document these events as terrorist acts and war crimes. This escalation of attacks on Russian territory and against foreign-flagged ships raises tension in the Black Sea region, while security agencies intensify surveillance measures in critical infrastructure and commercial ports in the southern zone.
