This Thursday, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, accused Ukraine of having tried to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant during the recent morning.
During a meeting with authorities and military commanders regarding the situation in the provinces of Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk, in western Russia, the head of state stated that “the enemy tried to attack the nuclear power plant (in Kursk) tonight”.
He added that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was quickly informed of the attempted attack. He said that the agency promised to come to Moscow personally and send specialists to assess the situation. “I hope they finally do this,” he said.
The director of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, announced that he will visit the nuclear plant next week. He acknowledged that he is very concerned about the danger that a situation of this type may generate, since the electric vehicle is theoretically within range of Ukrainian artillery.
A few days ago, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned of preparations by the Ukrainian armed forces to attack the said nuclear plant, which “could cause a large-scale catastrophe in Europe”.
Zakharova urged international organizations, especially the UN and the International Atomic Energy Agency, to immediately condemn the provocative actions being prepared by the Kiev regime and to avoid a violation of the nuclear and physical security of the Kursk nuclear power plant.
