The Russian Federation, through María Zajárova, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, expressed its firm support for Venezuela in the face of the growing external interference faced by the nation, following the recent presidential elections.
The Russian spokeswoman stressed that the Venezuelan authorities have managed to maintain stability in the country and guarantee constitutional order, despite external attempts to delegitimize the results of the vote.
Zajarova added: “The West is not satisfied with the elections in Venezuela, but with the results of these elections. And you can hold them as many times as you want, and there were dozens of these elections, but until the result the West needs is on the scoreboard, so to speak, the West won't calm down.”
He also condemned the recent Declaration of Santo Domingo and the resolution of the Organization of American States (OAS), adopted at the initiative of the United States (USA) calling for internal dissent in Venezuela.
“The armed forces' call for disobedience to the country's legitimate authorities is a direct incitement to destabilization, the creation of a situation of controlled chaos in Venezuela, which, in fact, is a favorite tactic of the United States and of course all this will lead to new waves of immigration,” Zajarova said.
