Last Thursday, the Russian Federation warned that it will respond to the sanctions imposed by the United States (US) against media in that country with “symmetric and/or asymmetric measures against US media”.

In a statement published on the Foreign Ministry's website, Moscow said: “The acts of American leaders that emphatically contradict their commitments to ensure free access to information and media pluralism will not go unanswered.”

The text warns that Washington's actions to deport Russian journalists, unacceptable conditions for their work, or any other way to obstruct their activities will help Moscow to implement all kinds of measures against the American media.
