Russian President declares Easter truce in Ukraine

During a meeting with the Chief of Staff, Valery Gerasimov, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, announced the suspension of military actions in Ukraine on the occasion of Easter.

“Our decision on the Easter truce will show the extent to which the Kiev regime's willingness and its willingness and capacity to comply with the agreements, to participate in the process of peace talks aimed at eliminating the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis are sincere,” said the president, according to information detailed by Telesur.

The Ministry of Defense of the Federation gave precise instructions to all military units to cease fighting, from 06:00 PM (local time) this Saturday until next April 21.

He also said that the measure takes into account humanitarian purposes and will be carried out “on condition that the Kiev regime respects each other”.
