For the past three days, 43 boys and 47 girls, aged between 8 and 12 years old, from the municipalities of Atures, Autana and Atabapo in the state of Amazonas, have been involved in an enriching learning day organized by the National Scientific Seed Program.
Through practical activities and interactive workshops, children and young people explored nature, Venezuelan culture, science and technology, strengthening the link between ancient knowledge and scientific advances.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, on its first day, the participants visited the Center for the Dissemination of Science, Didactrom, located at the Simon Bolivar University (USB). Here, they had the opportunity to carry out fun experiments and solved puzzles, learning about the basic principles of physics and chemistry in a playful and accessible way.
The second day was dedicated to touring the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC), where they explored the laboratories of the centers of Biophysics and Biochemistry, Agricultural Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry.
During their visit, they observed advanced research in areas such as the structure and function of biomolecules; projects focused on improving agricultural productivity through biotechnological techniques; experiments related to materials physics, theoretical and applied physics, and the synthesis of new chemical compounds and their application in various industries.
In addition, they carried out small experiments and reinforced their scientific knowledge through exchanges of experiences with Venezuelan researchers.
On the third day, the young participants visited emblematic historic sites such as the National Pantheon, the Bolivarian Museum and the Birthplace of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.
These sites represent Venezuela's rich history and heritage, offering an inspiring environment for learning and the exchange of experiences.
Every step on this educational journey has been an invaluable opportunity for boys and girls to deepen their knowledge about the country's history and strengthen their scientific curiosity.
