Through joint work, the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (CONAS) and the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT) succeeded in dismantling and capturing the members of a criminal gang dedicated to closing businesses illegally in the state of Carabobo. The criminal organization used false labels that pretended to belong to the collecting entity.
Through a press release, SENIAT repudiated these acts of vandalism that seek to discredit the institutional image and generate discomfort and confusion in society, which is why they reminded the Venezuelan population that all tax procedures are protected by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Organic Tax Code (COT).
“Administrative procedures are carried out by workers attached to the collection body duly uniformed and identified with their credentials, who must be accompanied by military personnel from the National Guard and their actions are delimited by what is established in an Administrative Order signed and sealed by the regional authority, in accordance with the provisions of articles 137, 150 and 188 of the COT. In this same vein, according to article 188 of the COT, the order will indicate the taxpayer or responsible party with all precision: the taxes, periods and constituent elements of the tax base to be audited, identification of the acting officials, as well as any other information that allows fiscal actions to be individualized”, explains the press release.
In this regard, the national customs and tax superintendent, José David Cabello Rondón, assured that these actions are aimed at providing the Venezuelan people with the necessary tools so that they are not victims of deception or fraud.
