The National Public Health System, in coordination with the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, carried out a successful comprehensive medical day in the parish of La Mesa de Esnujaque, specifically in the El Niño Simón Foundation Complex, in Trujillo state, to provide direct care to families affected by the recent rains.
During the day, 90 medical consultations were offered, 70 for adults and 20 pediatric, as well as 2 gynecological consultations, which included IUD placements. In addition, 40 screenings for high blood pressure, 10 HIV tests, 10 VDRL tests, an electrocardiogram study and 11 ultrasound scans were performed.
In addition, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health, comprehensive guidance was provided to women housed in the temporary shelter, addressing issues such as sexual health, personal hygiene and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
