The sectoral vice-president of Defense and National Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, assured that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) remains vigilant in the face of the United States military threat in the Caribbean Sea and the destabilizing actions that are intended to be implemented in the country.

“We are vigilant of everything that happens in the world, in the region, in the Caribbean. There is a visible threat and potential terrorist actions to divide the people and the Armed Forces,” he said.

He reported that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has announced secret operations in Venezuela, a practice that is part of its long history of interventions in Latin America.

“The CIA acts in accordance with the most bastard interests of imperialism. This is no exception. In the coup against President Chávez in 2002, he was also present,” he said.

Padrino López stressed that, in the face of these aggressions, the country has responded with unity and commitment.

“We have a more cohesive Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), with a greater purpose of combat and patriotism. The national State, under the firm leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, remains on the offensive, in co-responsibility with society, to defend the sovereignty enshrined in our Constitution,” he concluded.
