SUDEASEG announces extraordinary extension of deadlines for regulated entities following seismic events

The Superintendency of Insurance Activity (SUDEASEG), formalized through circular SAA-04-0138-2026 an administrative relief measure for all regulated entities (legal entities) in the sector, in accordance with the State of Emergency decreed throughout the national territory after the double earthquake of June 24.

The decision, issued by the Superintendent of Insurance Activity (E), Leonel David Lacera Urdaneta, said in a statement that an extraordinary and exceptional extension of five (05) business days is granted for the assignment of documents, books, accounting supports and the fulfillment of requirements related to the inspection processes that are currently in progress, details the SUDEASEG in its Instagram account.

The document explained that this period is counted after the publication of the said circular, which is dated July 15.

He also emphasized that those regulated entities who have suffered critical damage or loss of physical or digital access to their information systems as a direct result of earthquakes must formally notify the Superintendency.

To this end, they must attach a succinct technical report that allows individual operational considerations to be evaluated.

SUDEASEG reiterates its commitment to the soundness of the insurance sector and urges companies to prioritize, above all, the safety of their workers and urges them to use this time frame to efficiently regularize the required documentation, without compromising the quality of financial and technical data.
