The National Superintendency for the Defense of Socioeconomic Rights (SUNDDE), published a new mandatory format for disclosing the official rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) in commercial establishments in the country.
The model that replaces all previous formats includes a QR code, which can be downloaded from the institution's website and placed in a place that is easily visible and accessible to consumers, SUNDDE reported on its Instagram account.
In this regard, with its entry into force, the new format is the only one authorized for the disclosure of the official reference rate.
Through this QR code, users can make immediate complaints to the institution's Complaint Management System if they detect irregularities in prices or in the application of the official rate.
SUNDDE reported that this measure aims to strengthen economic transparency and add direct control mechanisms.
He also reiterated that transactions must be executed in accordance with the current official exchange rate and non-compliance with the regulations entails a violation.
