Sustainable Development Agreement signed by Venezuela and Algeria

During the V Venezuela-Algeria Joint Commission, the Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Ricardo Molina, signed an environmental agreement with the perspective of sustainable development, as part of the 14 agreements signed between the two nations.

The signed document seeks to promote bilateral cooperation with a practical and financially viable approach, in the areas of climate change, biodiversity, reduction of environmental degradation, marine management, prevention of ocean pollution, circular economy, waste management, fight against pollution, environmental education, research, sustainable innovation, and sustainable consumption and production.

Molina has as its executing counterpart the Minister of Environment and Quality of Life of the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria, Nadjiba Djilali, with whom she announced that joint annual programs will be developed and the progress of what has been agreed will be evaluated.

Minister Molina said that “we are also committed, as sister nations, to scheduling the first meeting in the course of the year in Venezuela,” he also explained that the issues agreed by Venezuela and Algeria correspond to the sectors of agriculture, tourism, housing and urban planning, university education, scientific research, professional training and culture.

During the events, Minister Molina was the co-president of the Commission for the Venezuelan side and Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, the head of National Trade, Luis Villegas and the president of the National Institute for Training and Socialist Education (INCES), Wuikelman Ángel Paredes.
