The National Book Center (CENAL) extended until May 15 the call for the 2nd Teresa de la Parra National Youth Literature Competition, aimed at young high school students across the country.

The initiative is open to Venezuelan or foreign participants residing in Venezuela, aged between 12 and 18 years. Young women aged 12 to 14 can submit unpublished texts in the categories of letters or stories, while those aged 15 to 18 can compete with free-themed stories, letters or essays.

CENAL reported that the winning works for each state will be published in an anthology by the publisher The Dog and the Frog, in addition to the delivery of certificates to the selected contestants.

The complete rules of the competition, as well as the guidelines for submitting manuscripts, are available on the Cenal web portal, while for inquiries, the email address [email protected] has been enabled.

This contest seeks to pay homage to Teresa de la Parra, one of the most prominent figures in Venezuelan literature, whose legacy continues to influence new generations of women writers in the country.
