The 20th edition of FILVEN was inaugurated in the state of Lara

At the Casa de la Cultura “Sixto Sarmiento” in Tintorero, in the municipality of Jiménez, in the state of Lara, the 20th International Book Fair of Venezuela (FILVEN) opened last Thursday with books, music, theater, handicrafts and an extensive literary and cultural program for the entire public of Larense.
During the opening event, which was led by the director of the State Cabinet of Culture of Lara, Marco Sarmiento, recognition was given to the regional writers Isabel Lameda and Manuel José Herrera, who were honored in this edition.
In this regard, the writer and historian Manuel José Herrera said that “Tintorero is a small town, but big in culture and music, where the best violinists in Venezuela have come out of here.”
The meeting was also attended by the state's sole authority for Education, Culture, Sports and Recreation, Eleamer Elkatrib; the mayor of the Jiménez municipality, Carmen Silva. In addition to the national guest writers Beatriz Aiffil, Neguel Machado and Danna “Olegario” Ortega.
