The Deputy Minister of Public Works, Juan Silva, reported that for 4 months they have been cleaning the different causes of the 11 prioritized rivers in the state of La Guaira.
Silva explained that of the 11 prioritized rivers, seven have already been addressed with more than 15 specialized machines, to avoid any contingency generated by recent rains.
He also emphasized that around 30 officials are active 24/7 alert to any event. “We don't rest here, we turn everything we clean upside down,” he added.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Security, Andrés Goncalves, indicated that, together with the Bolivarian Government, an operation has been deployed in areas affected by heavy rains in the Guaireña state.
“We have a staff that went to Puerto Cruz with a logistics vessel, with food and doing a road inspection,” he said.
Goncalves also indicated that there is a staff removing a plug in the Tacoa sector and other personnel are working in the La Pedrera ravine in Maiquetía and in Macuto clearing up the cause of the river.
