The Compass of Sovereignty Program began at the César Rengifo Transitional Camp

The “Compass of Sovereignty” program brought reading and training activities to the César Rengifo Transitional Camp, in the Altagracia parish of Caracas, with the purpose of bringing children and adolescents closer to the knowledge of the national identity and the legacy of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the day was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Alejandro López, accompanied by Deputy Ministers Miqueas “Piki” Figueroa, Gabriela Simoza and Rosario Soto, as well as by the plan's godmother, Marialcira Matute.

During the meeting, López highlighted the incorporation of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela into the National Bicentennial Reading Plan, an initiative that promotes content related to the life, thought and legacy of Bolivar. “Knowing Venezuela and its identity involves knowing our Constitution, the collective book of all Venezuelans,” he said.

The minister explained that the program includes two versions of the constitutional text: a formal edition aimed at adults and another illustrated by the artist Omar Cruz, aimed at boys, girls and adolescents, with the objective of facilitating their understanding through teaching resources.

The Ministry for Culture emphasized that the activity is part of the cultural deployment that seeks to strengthen the habit of reading in temporary camps and contribute to citizen formation and the preservation of Venezuelan historical memory.
