The first shipment containing 10 tons of humanitarian aid arrived in Venezuela from Russia

This Saturday, July 11, the first shipment of humanitarian assistance arrived in Venezuela from Russia, with nearly 10 tons of supplies intended to treat the population affected by the devastating earthquakes of June 24.

The Deputy Minister for International Communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rander Peña, was in charge of receiving the shipment and thanked the support and commented that it is part of the alliances between the two nations.

“To Russia, thank you very much. From the outset, Russia has been very attentive to active and timely solidarity with the Venezuelan people,” he said.

This assistance includes supplies intended to meet the most urgent needs of the population. “We received the first shipment of several that will come to the country,” he said.

For his part, Russian ambassador Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov confirmed that a second, larger flight will bring medicines, supplies, basic necessities and tents.

“All this time we were in touch, working together hand in hand, side by side. And here we are, as in the time of the pandemic, always together in any situation,” he emphasized.
