A total of 167 high school graduates in the country, with an average of 20 points, were recognized by the National Government for their impeccable academic performance.

From the auditorium of the Fermín Toro Educational Complex, in Caracas, the Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, congratulated each high school graduate for their effort, perseverance, discipline and dedication to studies, as well as extended recognition to the more than 300,000 young people who completed high school throughout the territory.

“The grade is not the only way to measure talent, nor is it the only thing that should be measured in a human being. As Bolívar said: talent without probity is a scourge (...) But I am sure, from what I saw, that you are talented and with probity and with values of love and patriotism,” he said.

In the company of the Minister of University Education, Ricardo Sánchez, and the Deputy Minister for the Communalization of Science, Danmarys Hernández, the head of the educational office asserted that behind every 20-point average is the effort of the family, to whom he also sent words of thanks.

The recognition, according to a press release, is intended to highlight the achievement of these students, as the highest expression of academic excellence.

In addition to the recognition of academic excellence, the 167 young people with the best averages have priority in selecting places through the National Income System, scholarships, as well as studying in Russia or China.

National and international trips, as well as smartwatches and books, were other prizes awarded to high school graduates.

Finally, Rodríguez reported that a special unified office has been created between the ministries of Education, University Education and Science and Technology to directly serve this group of young people throughout their university career.
