The second phase of the “My Beautiful Court with Youth” Plan begins to equip 300 sports facilities

This Wednesday, the second phase of the Plan “My Beautiful Court with Youth” was relaunched in the Carlos Raúl Villanueva Urbanization, located in Fuerte Tiuna.

The project contemplates the comprehensive conditioning of multipurpose sports fields, spaces considered vital to strengthen comprehensive prevention, promote healthy alternatives to leisure and keep children, adolescents and young people away from risk factors.

In this regard, the Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro, who stressed that this second phase responds to the commitments made during the first Popular Youth Consultation.

The minister explained that, “in that consultation, the recovery of sports fields emerged as one of the main priorities.” He also noted that, after identifying more than 500 pending spaces to be rehabilitated, a national plan was activated with the support of Captain Diosdado Cabello and the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

Lotartaro recalled that in the first phase 300 courts were already recovered and inaugurated across the country.

“Now we are going to a second phase, where we are going to make some 300 new courts. And today we are on one of those 300 courts that are going to be rehabilitated for all Venezuelan youth,” he said.

He indicated that the final goal is to achieve the recovery of 1,500 courts nationwide, adding that “we are materializing the dreams of youth, dreams that emerged from the dream map built during the popular consultation.”

The minister also stressed that, although there are still needs to be met —such as the soccer field, the volleyball court and spaces for entrepreneurs—, this intervention marks the beginning of a sustained process of improvement for the community.
