The tallest religious mural in Venezuela in honor of the Virgin of the Valley is in Anzoátegui and was presented on September 27 by the governor of the entity, Luis José Marcano.
“This is a work that combines art with faith and that, starting this Saturday, adorns the Paseo de la Cruz and the Sea of Puerto La Cruz in eastern Venezuela,” he said.
After the blessing and lighting of lights that illuminate the image of María's advocacy, the regional president accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Women, Jhoanna Carrillo and the mayor of the Sotillo municipality, Nelson Moreno, pointed out that the work was delivered in that emblematic space, in connection with the celebration of World Tourism Day and as part of the month of commemoration of the Patron Saint of the East.
Marcano reported that this work carried out on the iconic promenade, in addition to a set of investments made with the support of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, is part of the Muralism Plan that has been under way in the entity for two years and which contemplates “a comprehensive effort that strengthens identity, economic activity and tourism”.
For his part, the author of the work, Ramón Pimentel, specified that the mural measures 36 meters high by 16 meters wide and was executed in 17 days. “To portray the greatness of the Virgin of the Valley was to measure myself on the wall, humanly and artistically, it was a beauty,” he said.
