On a vibrant and joyful day, with music, songs and dances, the Tamunangue sounds honored Saint Anthony of Padua in the context of the activities of the Institute of Performing and Musical Arts (IAEM), an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC).

According to information from the Ministry for Culture, workers of the institution and the general public showed their passion for this original tradition of the state of Lara, with the presence of the cultivators who pay tribute to this ancient demonstration, during a day held in the north tower of the Simon Bolivar Center.

In the space called “El Yabajero”, women and cultivators such as Santiago Key, Daniel Gil,‎Carlos Sánchez,‎José Granado,‎Ricardo Linares,‎Ismael Colmenares,‎Rolando Canonico, ‎Leonardo Zerpa,‎Clara Lunar,‎José “Chuchú” García, Jesús Berenzola,‎Margarita Morales and‎Liliam Frías, accompanied by musicians and dancers from the group Tradiciones de Venezuela, who showed their tribute to this ancient tradition.

The celebration began with a salute to San Antonio, an activity that marks the spiritual part of the party, and included the Battle, which although not part of the sounds, represents the fundamental element to start a tamunangue.

The party continued with the seven sounds of this expression: the Beautiful, the Yiyivamos, the Juruminga, the Perrendiga, the Little by Little, the Galerón and the Six Figureao, preceded by an intention and prayers for the health, peace and prosperity of Venezuelan families.

Saint Anthony of Padua is recognized as the patron of lost objects, who grants partners to the women who invoke him and good harvests to the peasants who ask for him. It is the second most venerated religious image in the state of Lara, after the Divine Shepherdess, merging the magical with the religious both in that entity and in other regions of the country.
