The massacre of La Victoria

- 63 years ago, on June 3, 1962, the La Victoria Massacre occurred, commanded by the international terrorist and agent of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Luis Posada Carriles (Commissioner Basilio).
- Commissioner Basilio directed the shooting of: Francisco Edmundo Hernández Cruz, Luis Eduardo Cols González, José Elio Sánchez Romero and Francisco Acosta García, the latter of Spanish nationality.
- The four executed men belonged to the Punto Cero group and were surprised inside a house located at 1317 Anselmo Cerro Street, in La Victoria, edo**. Aragua, ** where they were massacred.
- To this end, the Christian Democratic Government of Rafael Caldera mobilized more than 300 officials from different police forces and hunters from the Intelligence and Prevention Directorate DISIP, supported by helicopters.
- The neighbors and people from other sectors shouted at the murderous commandos to stop shooting and respect the lives of those who were in there.
- The members of Punto Cero called for a ceasefire to let out two children and two women, sisters Marivel and Brenda Esquivel, who were pregnant.
- The outraged community prevented these girls and boys (5 and 6 years old) from being shot. However, they were transferred to the cells of the DISIP and subjected to physical abuse.
- Brenda Esquivel, eight months pregnant, suffered a volley of kicks ordered by Commissioner Basilio, saved by the intervention of José Vicente Rangel, then a member of the Congress of the Republic, who managed to be transferred to the Concepción Palacios Maternity Hospital, where she was practically brought back to life. Posada Carriles, had given the order to be beaten “to kill the seed before it is born”.
